Notice of Special General Meeting
A Special General Meeting of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland will take place on Tuesday 7th December 2010 at 2.30pm
The SGM will be held at the Institute's offices, Drumsheugh House, 38b Drumsheugh Gardens, Edinburgh EH3 7SW. All members are invited to attend.
The meeting has been called to approve a number of changes to the Institute's Rules which have been proposed following a Council review of governance procedures. The main changes relate to the Institute's current disciplinary procedures and are designed to (a) improve and streamline these procedures and (b) help meet the likely future requirements set by regulators should the Institute become an 'acredited' professional body.
Several other minor changes have been proposed which Council believes will be helpful in improving the efficient governance of the Institute and future-proofing the Rules where possible. These include introduction of an Associate Chartered Banker designation and making it clear that Associates (ACIBS) may be elected to Council.
For full details of all the proposals, please go to the downloads section below.
Voting members who are unable to attend are entitled to appoint another voting member as their Proxy, provided that a Proxy form, available from the dowloads section below, is lodged with the Chief Executive no later than 1 December 2010. Please note that proxies shall not be used where a vote is taken by a show of hands.
Should you be unable to access the download documents or require further information, please contact Martin Fishman on 0131 473 7789 or email martin@charteredbanker.com.
