What is RDR? The Retail Distribution Review (RDR) was launched by the Financial Services Authority with the aim of giving consumers greater confidence and trust in the retail investment market. Central to the RDR has been the aim of raising the professional standards of investment advisers, thereby giving consumers greater confidence in the advice being offered. The outcomes of the RDR apply to all retail investment advisers.
Raising professional standards for advisers includes:• Achieving a qualification [including any gap fill] that has been approved by the Regulator• Maintaining and updating professional competence by completing annual Continuing Professional Development (CPD); and • Attaining an annual Statement of Professional Standing which verified the relevance of the adviser’s CPD and also ensures they abide by a Code of Ethics.
We have worked with a number of experienced partners to develop a series of tailored solutions designed to help the sector make a successful transition to the new standards.
