Professional Financial Adviser (PFA) status

Whilst the outcomes of the RDR do not currently include mandatory professional body membership, this is a way of demonstrating that you have achieved and are committed to maintaining high standards of professionalism.  

We offer professional body membership to holders of the DIP (or an equivalent appropriate qualification), including those who complete the Universal Gap Fill, and who comply with our requirements for Continuing Professional Development [CPD] and Code of Professional Conduct.   Such membership confers PFA status on the member. PFAs benefit from:-
• The right to use of the designatory letters PFA and the title of Professional Financial Adviser.
• Inclusion on an online register of PFAs.
• Access our structured online PFA CPD scheme, designed to keep you up-to-date with regulatory and market changes, and supports the RDR requirements for maintaining the current regulatory standards.
• Access to an online library of resources.
• Access events run by the Institute and partners.

 

As we have Accredited Body status, our PFA members will also be able to apply to for their Statement of Professional Standing [SPS] at no extra cost. For more information about our Accredited Body status and how to obtain an SPS please click here.


The Chartered Banker programme provides broad, flexible skill sets and a wide range of ways to achieve the qualification.
