RDR Qualification Gap Fill

Gap fill is a term which has become familiar to many advisers. Certain appropriate qualifications were developed prior to the full set of new standards being released by the FSA as an outcome of the RDR. This has meant that there are some gaps between the syllabus they cover and the new standards.  For existing advisers, these gaps can be addressed by undertaking a structured programme of learning, which should be recorded as evidence that this new knowledge and understanding has been taken on board and can be applied.

Gap Fill for Chartered Bankers, ACIBS members and holders of the Certificate in Financial Services

We have tailored solutions for advisers holding one of our qualifications that are listed as appropriate. If you did not receive advice about which gap fill programme you should follow for the Institute qualification  you hold, please contact us on info@charteredbanker.com or call 0131 473 7777.

Gap Fill for ICAEW members

In order to support one of our professional partners, the Institute of Chartered Accountants for England and Wales [ICAEW], we have developed a programme of gap fill to support ICAEW members and those eligible to apply to ICAEW, as an FSA accredited body like us, for a statement of profesisonal standing. For more information about this arrangement please click here or contact ICAEW directly via e-mail: john.gaskell@icaew.com.

Universal Gap Fill

As the issue of gap fill has become relatively complicated for those holding transitional qualifications, we have also developed a more universal solution to support advisers that hold one of the appropriate qualifications offered by other awarding bodies.  This robust programme has been designed to ensure full compliance with the new standards regardless of which qualification is held or when it was achieved.
This Universal Gap Fill programme is designed to:

• Assess the your current gaps against the new standards and record this via an online CPD log;
• Provide access to a structured assessment programme relevant to the specific knowledge you require to fill your ‘gaps’;
• Verify your understanding via a post-study assessment;
• Provide you with written confirmation that you have successfully addressed your gaps and completed your studies.

Registration for the Gap Fill programme costs £95.

Following your application you will receive access to our online Gap Fill tool, supported by our partners Competent Adviser, complete with a quick start guide to help you get the most out of the system. Registration is for 6 months, however, please note that you must ensure that you give yourself sufficient time to complete the programme and apply for your Statement of Professional Standing ahead of the December 2012 deadline.  The last date for Gap Fill registration is 2 November 2012.

Once you complete your programme of gap fill we will provide you with evidence that you have identified and met your gaps. This can then be used to support your application for a Statement of Professional Standing.

Please note, to apply for our gap fill you will need to provide us with evidence of your existing qualification.

For more information and to apply please e-mail info@charteredbanker.com or call us on 0131 473 7777.

The Chartered Banker programme provides broad, flexible skill sets and a wide range of ways to achieve the qualification.
