Project management – a new online course
A new online course on project management from Nelson Croom has been added to the members’ area of our website. It’s designed to appeal to everyone responsible for project work. Less experienced staff will find it will help them understand the process and be more effective at managing a project. Those with more experience may value the opportunity to review their approach to project management techniques.

There are now six e-learning courses from Nelson Croom available free of charge within the members’ area of the website and all can be used for CPD purposes. The others cover: networking skills, leadership skills, business performance management, negotiating skills and communicating complex Ideas. All are interactive and designed to suit different learning styles, with activities that help consolidate the learning. Most learners complete a course over three to four sessions of around 30 to 40 minutes each.

Avoid uncertainty – presentation June 7
The Institute and Pagan Osborne, one of Scotland’s leading financial and property specialists, invite you to an evening presentation on avoiding uncertainty by taking control of tomorrow, today. The event takes place at the Institute’s offices in Edinburgh on Tuesday 7 June, and covers: legally binding wills, keeping wills up-to-date, inheritance planning, future care costs, living wills and power of attorney.

New member for Approved Employers Scheme
Tesco Bank has joined the Institute’s Approved Employers Scheme (AES). This means that rather than recording Continuing Personal Development (CPD) activity on an individual basis, the majority of its employees’ development can be achieved within the framework of the AES.

Paul Davies, Personnel Director, Tesco Bank, says: “I’m delighted that we have achieved our CPD Accreditation with the Institute. Our strategy in Tesco Bank is simple, to provide our people with the best ‘Opportunity to Get On’. This further underpins how we provide support for our business.”
