Institute of Operational Risk Event with
Dr Simon Ashby, Plymouth Business School, Financial Services

Thursday 6th September

The IOR are delighted to welcome members of the Chartered Banker Institute to their upcoming event with Dr Simon Ashby free of charge.

Simon is currently Associate Professor (Senior Lecturer) in Financial Services at Plymouth Business School having previously held senior roles in a number of financial services organisations and the Operational Risk Policy team of the FSA.

In association with colleagues from the Centre for the Analysis of Risk and Regulation at the London School of Economics, Simon has been awarded a grant to undertake research into ‘Risk Culture in Financial Organisations’. He is also leading the development of a new Sound Practice Guidance paper for the IOR on this subject.

Simon will be known to those that attended the IOR's Conference last October from the KRI session he led. Simon is a Fellow of the IOR and he is also their Vice-Chair.

This promises to be an interesting and enjoyable evening and the topic will lend itself to an open discussion, which has proved to be a popular format at previous events. This will be a unique opportunity for you to share your experience and views and contribute to the research and development work that Simon is leading, as well as benefiting from the contributions of your colleagues in other organisations.

Venue:            AEGON UK, Lochside Crescent, Edinburgh Park
