Event Details

Managing climate-related risks and supporting the transition to a low-carbon world are amongst our most significant global challenges.  Central banks, financial regulators, financial institutions and many finance professionals consider the identification, measurement and disclosure of these to be strategic priorities.  Recognising the strategic importance of this topic, and supporting the COP26 Private Finance Strategy objective that every financial decision should include climate change, the Chartered Body Alliance have developed their first joint qualification, the Certificate in Climate Risk, to develop the capacity and capabilities of finance and risk professionals globally in this key area.

Join us on 27th May to hear from members of the syllabus panel of leading finance experts from banking, insurance and investment convened by the Chartered Body Alliance to develop this new qualification.  Amongst other topics they will discuss:

  • The nature of climate risk, and why it is of strategic importance to every financial institution, and all finance professionals
  • Approaches to identifying, managing and disclosing climate risk
  • Developing and sustaining cultures to support effective climate risk management
  • Building climate risk knowledge and skills
  • The opportunities for finance from the race to net zero, and transition to a sustainable, low-carbon world

The event will mark the launch of the Chartered Body Alliance’s Certificate in Climate Risk.  Following the panel discussion, you will have the opportunity to hear more about this new, global benchmark Certificate, and register your interest.

  • Sarah Rickard, Head of Climate Risk and Ring-Fencing Policy and Assurance, HSBC UK Bank plc
