The Finance Innovation Lab is inviting our members to their Poverty and Data Revolution Event.

There is an urgent need to support financial health and tackle poverty in the UK. Around 14 million people in the UK (20% of the population) are living in poverty – that’s eight million working-age adults, four million children and 2 million pensioners struggling on a household income of less than £16,000 a year.

At the same time, finance is changing fast. With the use of new data and AI technologies in the sector come huge risks around consent and control, bias, exclusion and exploitation, and all have potential to hit the poorest hardest. But there are also new opportunities.

This session will work with experts from civil society, finance, innovation and policy making to co-create new ideas about how financial innovation can support good financial health and help to overcome poverty in the UK.
