With all the excitement and hype about AI that’s “just around the corner”—self-driving cars, instant machine translation, etc.—it can be difficult to see how AI is affecting the lives of everyone right now, especially working in, and reliant on, the professions including accounting, banking and law.

Professions are already experimenting with AI including machine learning and natural language processing to improve efficiency and decision-making, and serve clients better.  In the financial services we see AI being used in trading, ‘robo-advisors’ and fraud prevention to give just a couple of examples.

Is AI being used to augment rather than eliminate human jobs? Is it changing the way we view professional work and capabilities required of professionals?  How should firms, and professionals, get the most from AI? Come and find out from our expert panel:

  • Professor Mike Wheeler; Chair in Philosophy; University of Stirling
  • Ian McWilliam; Analyst in Machine Learning team; Aberdeen Standard Investments
  • Gillian Docherty; CEO; DataLab
