In September 2019, the United Nations will formally launch the final draft of its Principles for Responsible Banking - an initiative designed to promote sustainable practises in the finances industry. The six principles address priorities ranging from acting in accordance with the Pairs Climate Agreement to issues of accountability, which include a requirement that all signatories publicise their reporting.

The Institute is a key proponent of the Principles for Responsible Banking - one of the first in the United Kingdom - but its active role doesn't stop there. This Special Report explores the Institute's understanding of the roles banks and banker play in supporting responsibility, accountability and sustainability both in the UK and worldwide.
