How individual bankers conduct themselves in their professional lives, and the culture of the organisations for which they work is of critical importance to the ongoing work to improve confidence and trust in the sector.  Since 1875, our Institute has helped banks and bankers in the UK and around the world develop, demonstrate and embed professional ethics, expertise, conduct and a professional culture that customers and communities - and bankers themselves can be proud of.

We do this through professional standards, professional membership and our professional code of conduct, which help individuals address not only the letter, but the spirit of the applicable legislation and rules.
