Susie Miller is a Marketing Director in Barclays UK, supporting Mortgage, Savings, Insurance & Investments businesses, as well as management of the Comms and Copywriting teams.  This is her 20th year in Barclays – and as part of a large team spread across the UK, and with stakeholders in various locations, Susie has lots of experience of building relationships and communicating virtually.  Susie is married to Donald (who also works for Barclays), and is mum to Harry and Snoop the dog.

Ben joined SFE in September 2023, and is responsible for leading SFE’s policy development, government engagement and broader stakeholder communication.

He brings over 15 years of public and private sector experience, much of that spent advising senior figures in politics and financial services. He was most recently a Senior Public Policy Manager for NatWest Group, and also served as Chair of SFE’s Public Affairs and Communications forum between 2021 and 2023.”

Andrew Neilson has over 20 years of experience in PR, enhancing the reputation of individuals, products, and institutions. His career includes six years as a Non-Executive Director at Capital Theatres. His first PR role was at the Edinburgh Fringe looking after PR for Assembly. He then worked with the National Theatre of Scotland, managing PR for productions like Black Watch and pioneering the world’s first Social Media call. At the BBC corporate press office in London, he navigated high-profile issues, including the Savile scandal. Later, at BBC Scotland, he publicised programs for the Commonwealth Games and Scottish Independence Referendum, defending the BBC’s impartiality and winning an award for the Best BBC Communications Report.

Since joining NatWest in 2016, he has created iconic campaigns, from giant frozen credit cards at Edinburgh Zoo to savings tips with goalkeeper Emily Ramsey. He won the Chartered Banker Institute Young Banker of the Year Award for a proposal to help combat fraud. He is also chair of the Chartered Banker Institute’s Scotland Member Network and a member of BAFTA Scotland

Barry’s passion for communicating began whilst working as an MP’s assistant in the late ‘90s. This led to him beginning a 25-year career in corporate communications in the financial services sector. During that time he’s worked across corporate and consumer PR, public affairs, and internal commnucations, and acted as an adviser to senior teams in pensions, insurance, asset management and banking. He’s currently Tesco Bank’s Head of External Comms & PR following his appointment to the role in 2019.
