Chartered Banker Diploma
Recognised and supported by major banking and organisations across the globe, the Chartered Banker Diploma is a world class qualification that will help you achieve and maintain the standards of excellence and professionalism expected by clients and employers. It’s a challenging programme which combines the theory and practice of banking and aims to provide you with an extensive, detailed knowledge which will enable you to critically analyse key banking themes. It has been designed to enable you to make professional judgements and informed decisions in everyday practice.
Each module costs £995 and includes your study text, as well as your first exam entry fee. Exam resits cost £185 per module.
Each module is assessed by a compulsory assignment and a written online examination.
You can sit your exams at any one of our examination centres throughout the UK. Results will be available within six weeks of you sitting the examination.
Your registration is valid for 12 months. You should sit and pass your module within this time.
In order to study the Chartered Banker Diploma you must become a member of the Institute.

Yes, if you have relevant experience and at least one of the following:
- An Advanced Diploma or an Associate Chartered Banker Diploma
- A degree from a recognised university
- A regulatory qualification such as Mortgage Advice and Practice Certificate (MAPC) or Diploma in Investment Planning (DipIP)
- Other professional qualifications may also be considered

Niall started with the Professional Banker Certificate, progressing onto the Professional Banker Diploma, then completed the Associate Chartered Banker Diploma. Due to his prior learning with us, he will only be required to complete a further three Chartered Banker modules to become a Chartered Banker.
Jai has no professional qualifications. He has, however, undertaken internal training with his employer (a UK leading bank) which he learns has been accredited by us, at Associate Chartered Banker Diploma. Jai completes the Chartered Banker Diploma by studying:
Sally has impressed her manager since joining the bank’s Private Banking team. It is suggested that she should consider achieving Chartered Banker. Sally has a degree and her manager thinks that, despite in lack of her banking experience, her academic abilities would help her study at that level. To help her gain the underpinning knowledge needed to study the Chartered Banker modules, Sally’s route will include the Professional Banker module. She completes the Chartered Banker Diploma by studying:
- the compulsory module: Professionalism, Ethics and Regulation;
- three core modules;
- an elective module: Banking for High Net-Worth Individuals.
