Chartered Banker Institute – Special General Meeting

NOTICE OF SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING

Notice is hereby given that a Special General Meeting (SGM) of the Chartered Banker Institute will be held on Thursday 19^th November 2020 from 13:00. The SGM will be held remotely and all members are invited to attend.

Background and Purpose

The Board of Trustee Recruitment process for 2020 had been paused in March as a result of Covid-19 lockdown restrictions. This meant that new Trustees could not be appointed at our June 2020 AGM as would usually have been the case. The Board of Trustees approved the recommencement of the recruitment exercise at their meeting in June and interviews were held in September 2020.

The Nominations Committee have put forward the following recommendations for approval at this SGM, for appointment to the Board of Trustees for the period December 2020 to June 2023. Members are asked to vote on the appointment of the following new Trustees:  

• Ian Henderson (Member) – NED- Metro Bank
• William McLeod (Member) – Director, Scotland – Allied Irish Bank
• Anders Bouvin (Independent) – Former CEO, Handelsbanken
• Sue Primmer (Independent) – Chief Marketing Officer, Sionic

Trustees stepping down in 2020 are:

• Lynne Burns (Vice President)
• Susan Younger (Former Chair of the Quality and Standards Committee)
• Hugh McKay (Chair of the Nominations Committee)
• Brian McCrindle (Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee)

No other business will be discussed at this meeting.
