Chief Economist’s Update - 2020 in Review and 2021 Outlook

This is a joint event with the Edinburgh, Lothians & Fife District Centre and the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments (CISI).

We are delighted to welcome Sebastian Burnside, NatWest Group Chief Economist, to come along and share his insights into the impacts of a turbulent 2020 on financial services and the wider economy, and an outlook for 2021.

Sebastian Burnside is Chief Economist at NatWest Group and joined the bank in 2009. His insights help the bank understand how we need to change to meet the demands of an evolving economy and customer base. His analysis covers a wide range of topics affecting personal and corporate customers from demographic change and student debt, to monetary policy and climate change. Before joining NatWest he worked for Ofcom, the telecoms regulator, and in consultancy. He holds degrees from the London School of Economics and University of Edinburgh.
