Future Skills, Professional Judgement and Public Trust: Chartered Banker Institute Welcomes New Sector Compact

The Chartered Banker Institute has welcomed the Financial Services Skills Compact, a sector-wide initiative designed to strengthen skills, develop future talent and help ensure the UK financial services sector remains trusted, resilient and prepared for the opportunities and challenges ahead. 

Led by the Financial Services Skills Commission (FSSC), the Compact has been developed in collaboration with HM Treasury, Skills England, TheCityUK and the City of London Corporation. It aims to accelerate collective action to address skills needs across the sector, with a particular focus on the impact of technological change, artificial intelligence and evolving workforce requirements.  

As the UK’s professional body for banking, the Chartered Banker Institute welcomes the initiative and its focus on investing in people, developing future skills and supporting lifelong learning. 

Commenting on the announcement, Tanya Retter, Chief Executive of the Chartered Banker Institute, said:
