Professional Bodies Forum & Scottish Sports Scotland
The aim of the event is to showcase the benefits and opportunities of joining a sports board to professional individuals through a unique and innovative new partnership with the Professional Bodies Forum and ideally to identify individuals (and opportunities to support them) to join SGB boards.
With this in mind, the event will:
- Provide a unique networking opportunity for SGBs and individuals from across the Forum's membership
- Showcase how to join a board and the many benefits of this to individuals, their employers and the organisation of the board they join
- Provide an opportunity to hear from, and ask questions of, individuals who have joined a sports board
- Provide a unique opportunity to promote the important role of independent directors and the importance of diverse boards in good governance.

6pm - Minister's speech; opens event, outlines why this is an important area of work, celebrating new partnership, celebrating developments in the area and launches new resources.
6.15pm - Welcome from the SSA
6.20pm - Speeches from existing board members - showcasing how to get involved, what they get out of it and why they enjoy it.
6.45pm - Q&A with panel (including above speakers) - opportunity for those present to ask questions (we also propose to provide a mechanism for this in advance to gather questions)
7.05pm - Summary and next steps from the Professional Bodies Forum
7.10pm - Networking drinks
7.30pm - Close
