We are delighted to announce that the Chartered Banker Institute will be the host of the 25th World Conference of Banking Institutes (WCBI) in 2025 in Edinburgh.

2025 is a significant year for the Institute as we celebrate our 150th anniversary, and we look forward to including the WCBI as part of our celebratory plans.

Earlier this week, the baton was handed over to Simon Thompson, Chief Executive of the Chartered Banker Institute by Edward Ling, CEO, Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers (AICB), who were the hosts of WCBI 2023 in Malaysia.

Speaking after the event, Simon Thompson, Chief Executive of the Chartered Banker Institute said:

“2025 is going to be a significant year for the Chartered Banker Institute, as we celebrate our 150th anniversary. We are honoured to be hosting the 25th WCBI in Scotland and I believe it will be a fitting tribute to the world’s oldest professional body in banking.”
